Data for Change: The Richmond Market Value Analysis

To rebuild and support strong neighborhoods, we need to understand the power real estate investments can have at the neighborhood level. One way to understand what is possible is a Market Value Analysis, a tool developed by The Reinvestment Fund to identify investment opportunities that will strengthen the real estate market in struggling neighborhoods and improve health, safety, and opportunity for all residents. Through a 2016 Invest Health grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Richmond worked closely with The Reinvestment Fund to complete a Market Value Analysis. The Richmond Invest Health team included leaders from Richmond City Health District, Richmond Memorial Health Foundation, Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, City of Richmond Office of Community Wealth Building, and Virginia Commonwealth University.
